Most new LCD televisions come from the factory equipped with LCD TV stands to hold the television upright on a flat surface. LCD TV stands that were manufactured specifically for a particular model and size TV may not strong or stable enough for the newer models. The more slender flat screen LCD TVs have the ability to be mounted on the wall or placed on a LCD TV stand.

The new wide screen LCD TVs will not be able to fit into an older entertainment cabinet that was made for the smaller sets. These TV stands are close in size to other units available and will often be adequate for most TVs.
